Hear Me Out helps people work out where to complain and how to prepare a clear complaint.
For some people, a tool is not enough. They need a human to talk it through. They want help making sense of the options. They want to know what to do next.
That’s why we’re running a pilot clinic with Monash University.
What the clinic is
The Monash Pilot Clinic is a small, supervised support service.
If your situation is suitable, a Monash student team (supervised) may be able to speak with you by:
- phone call, or
- virtual appointment (video)
The clinic is designed to help with navigation. It is not designed to replace a lawyer or advocate.
What the clinic can help with
The clinic may be able to help you:
- work out the most relevant complaint pathway
- understand what information a complaint body usually needs
- organise your story into a clear, usable timeline
- identify documents or evidence you may want to gather
- draft or improve a complaint so it is easier for an agency to understand
This is practical support. It is about clarity and next steps.
What the clinic can’t do
To keep things safe and clear:
- It is not an emergency service.
- It is not a crisis or health response service.
- It may not be able to take every matter.
- It may not be able to provide ongoing casework.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, call 000.
How the pilot works
This is a pilot. That means places are limited.
When you email us, we will do a quick check to confirm whether we can help and what support is realistic. If we can assist, we will offer an appointment time.
How to request support
Email: hello@hearmeout.org.au
In your email, include:
- a short summary (2–5 sentences) of what happened
- who the issue is about (e.g., a service, agency, school, workplace)
- what outcome you want (e.g., apology, explanation, correction, change)
Please do not include sensitive medical details in your first email. If we need more detail, we will explain what to share and how.
Prefer to use the tool first?
If you just want to find the right place to complain and get step-by-step guidance, you can use the Hear Me Out tool first. It may be enough on its own.
